G30 vs C20 front suspension and brakes

I am looking to do the disc brake conversion on my 70 C20. I am looking around the local junkyards (LKQ) and the only potential candidate I see for spindles is a 1987 G30.

I am wondering what parts swap. I was looking on rock auto and I see the G series vans use different idler arms, pitman arms, and outer tie rod ends than the trucks. I am not sure if this is because the spindles and center link are different, or if it is just because the geometry is a bit different.

Are spindles and center link the same between an 1987 G30 and an 83-87 C20/R20?

Thank you

Re: G30 vs C20 front suspension and brakes

I believe the center link and geometry are different. Comparing GM parts direct -

87 G30: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/auto-p...umber=26048561

87 R20: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/auto-p...umber=88910029

So the question of the spindles is still at large. I can see the ball joints, rotor, and caliper are the same as an R20, but the outer tie rod is different. Not sure if this is due to the part that goes into the knuckle, or the part that goes into the sleeve. I am unable to find part numbers for the spindles.

Re: G30 vs C20 front suspension and brakes

The G-30 has a wider front suspension.
I know because I tried to use the front stabilizer bar on one of my c-10's.Way too wide!
The brake stuff may work though.

Thanks. That would explain the differences I found with the center link.
