gots mismatched valves back from machine shop. any valves you guys suggest?

Got the heads back with the smaller valves/ exhaust I believe? all mismatched.

Taking them back next week to tell them just to replace all with new valves (not going to argue but they wasn't mismatched before hand) not worth the time..

my question to you is not knowing what brands are better than the next to what compression ratio is best what compares best to what came in it stock or would be better?

its an 87, 350 5.7 with 68k miles heads never off until now. thanks

If they weren't mismatched beforehand, take them back and tell them to please bring you your valves, as these are not yours.

Maybe his original "matching" valves had stem wear and the guy that did the valve job had some good used ones laying around and used them instead of charging the guy for new ones. It's not that big a deal or are we building a high performance race motor.

This reminds me of my life motto, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I don't understand why 68k heads would need any reconditioning unless they were damaged somehow. I hope you get the old girl running good soon.

It sounds like you may have just got burned by incompetence. They must have mixed up your heads somehow and are never going to admit their mistake. You will have to avoid these bozos next time around. I always realized how fortunate I was to have a friendly and honest machine shop in my town.
