Which do I need: Gas Tank Filler neck or just rubber hose?
Ok, when I put gas in, I notice it dripping on the ground. I THINK it's coming from the rubber hose. What's the different between the:
Fuel-Tank Filler Neck Filler Neck Hose The Filler Neck is $45, and the hose is only $16. I'd like to be able to just get the hose..but is that gonna fix my problem? |

The filler neck is made of metal, has a ground strap, and has a small vent hose connected to it.
The filler neck hose is the main hose that leads to the fuel tank. A new filler neck hose and worm clamps should fix your problem. There's only one way to be sure though.....Get under the truck and see what's up.

mine did that when it was oner 3/4 tank, and the fuel lines on the top of the tank were done. New hoses did the trick there.

I checked with LMC, YearOne and Classic Industries and they all sold the same 1 3/8" hose. And like I said the stock hose was a 1 3/8" one (verified by the hose markings) but was just stretched the hell out. Oh well, I'll get it eventually.

The one I got from chevy duty had different sizes at each end.
I think you may have the wrong hose. I think there were 2 or 3 different styles for 73-78 era Last edited by Nvbowtie; 12-25-2003 at 07:40 AM. |
