Does this belong on an AD?
I purchased my truck as a basket case (what is it with people who disassemble a perfectly good vehicle, throw all the parts in boxes, then go off and leave it until half the parts are lost?). Anyway I found this piece I don't recognize and I'm not sure if it belongs on my '51 panel truck or if it's just some irrelevant part off of something else. Do you recognize it? What is it? Where does it go?

Re: Does this belong on an AD?
And the answer is NO it did not go to the truck when stock at least. This is a "rag joint" that connects the steering column to the steering box on a later car or truck. The original AD truck had a one piece assembly of the steering box and column so no rag joint was used. The column is bolted to the steering box and the shaft the steering wheel is hooked to goes right into the box with the worm gear on it.
