Fender installation predicament
If you've seen my progress on the "What did you do with your truck today" thread, you'll note the I just installed my inner fenders. Trouble is, there appears to be no way to get the outer fenders on over the inners.
Should I bolt the inners/outers together first and then install both as a unit?

When I saw that post I was thinking the same thing, I believe the inner fenders have to be on and they are installed as an assembly.

I think I remember going though that over 30 years ago but I always seem to have to do things twice because something doesn't jive the first time.

I have found DIY actually means DIO (do it over --and over). Perseverance wins the day

I installed my passenger fender over an already installed inner fender. if I remember right you have to remove the bolts on the top of the core support because the fender slides under there. if your fenders are painted though I wouldn't do it. you WILL scratch them. its messy. as a unit is the best way.

I did mine with the inners installed, but you have to keep all the bolts loose until everything is in place. There is a surprising amount of moving and twisting to get all the holes to line up.

when I installed my front fenders, I fought with it for a long time. then my wife suggested I assemble everything on the garage floor. we did that, removed the front wheels & 3 of us were able to lift the front clip up and drop it right in. some times she scares me with how smart she is.
