Headliner modification for a single wall hard top
Has anyone found or tried to add a headliner to the inside top of the Blazer removable Hard top?
The interior noise is fairly loud and we were thinking that having a fabric headliner might deaden the sound reflection off the hard top some while driving. We dont need to cover the complete walls of the top - maybe just most of the middle from the front mounts all the way back to the hinges. Has anyone tried this or know of a company that makes something that would work? Thanks! |

Re: Headliner modification for a single wall hard top
Most of your road noise is coming up through the floor. Add some sound deadener to your tub floor, interior bedsides, firewall, and inside door shells before sticking anything to your top. There are a few different manufacturers of good peel and stick sound deadeners to choose from (Fat Mat, Hush Mat, etc.).

Re: Headliner modification for a single wall hard top
Thanks cleszkie for the info. I have a full sound deadening kit from one of the popular vendors, along with new carpet, and side panels. We will start with that and see how it is. Just had the old single wall top painted and am assuming it will be fairly loud. But with all the new gaskets and other insulation, you could be right and it will be good. Thanks, Paul

Best way to make your truck quiet is to take the top off. Top off is the quietest ride you will get from one of these trucks.
