53 Chevy Truck Split Bumper on Front
Has anyone done a split bumper on an AD (similar to 1972 Camaro RS)?
http://news.classicindustries.com/th...t-bumper-swap/ I need a front bumper but I am looking at some ideas to show off my front roll pan. Thanks. Wade

Mock it up, there is no time better spent than mocking something up. Get some cardboard, paint it silver, tape it up there some how, get an idea what it looks like.

Re: 53 Chevy Truck Split Bumper on Front
I'd have to go with what he said, mock it up with something you can shape by had, paint it and stand back and visualize.
I've been around this truck for years on end but never studied exactly how he did the bumper but it could have been cut down like you are thinking and tucked closer to the fenders. Note that it is quite a bit thinner top to bottom than a stock bumper. A closer shot of it, please excuse my being a bit lazy this morning and just posting the link http://s173.photobucket.com/user/mr4...ml?sort=2&o=59 I wonder if a mid 60's VW bug bumper might have the right shape where you could use the ends to do a split bumper. The older bug bumpers were pretty simple in appearance but might have the shape and look you need.
