Pusher Fan
Has anyone tried a pusher fan to help the AC work when at an idle? Engine cooling isn't a problem with the 7 blade fan and thermo fan clutch, but the AC isn't quite as cold at an idle as it is going down the street. Yes it's a R134 conversion.

Re: Pusher Fan
I have a puller and a pusher on mine, both electric. When the AC is turned on they both kick on. Fan part number, FLX-112 fan from summit racing. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/flx-112
Good idea to put a fan on the condenser for 134A. Smitty

Re: Pusher Fan
Yes I ran one for year just for the AC. If you want to really cool it down buy a junkyard ford dual speed fan and put it inside the shroud right up against the radiator and have it come on high speed when the ac is on. I think mine is the windstar verision. That thing will cool it down plus some. I have this setup on my 64 SS Impala and it works great.
You can't even tell it's inside the shroud unless you really looking. Yes that is a C 10 shroud in the picture.

Re: Pusher Fan
Something I am going to do. Years ago I had a 88 1 ton Chevy with a big block 454. It had an engine driven fan and a pusher. The pusher turned on with the ac and if the temp got high enough it sounded like a hurricane under the hood when the clutch fan locked. That’s what got me thinking about the idea

Re: Pusher Fan
I recently put twin pushers in front of my condenser. Haven't driven any distance and have yet to check with a thermometer, but I suspect it's still not blowing as cold as I'd like. New R134 conversion with all new parts.

Re: Pusher Fan
I think it's worth doing. In my post above I said I had twin pushers on the condenser, but I failed to mention I still have the engine-driven clutch fan. Just in case anyone wondered....

Re: Pusher Fan
I have two pusher fans on mine. One is from a '89 Cad DeVille and is controlled by a 208* thermal switch. The other is from a '94 Cad DeVille and runs with the AC. It has extra protector bars that works to keep my fingers out of the fan when opening the hood. Engine fan is stock 4 blade.
