Narrow Crown Vic IFS
I was doing some web surfing and came across a company called Team321. They've been doing Crown Vic swaps and IRS kits for years. They have a narrowed Crown Vic front crossmember now that looks kind of promising.
It looks like right now, it's just for the blue oval crowd, but I'm willing to bet they can modify for the narrow frames of our old 'bolts. Last edited by whitedog76; 08-22-2018 at 11:06 AM. |

That solves the too wide for almost everything Crown Vic crossmember swap thing.
795 for the crossmember for a F100 plus 195 for their sway bar to go with it. Plus the cost of coil overs would give you a stout front end that actually fits the tires inside the wheel wells for between 1000 and 1200 total outlay though. About the same as an entry level MII kit with no extras. Worth asking if they have or can build one for an AD frame. They show an independent suspension kit for the rear of an AD so they do do some AD stuff. I figure I'll have well under 1000 in the front end in mine using the Industrial chassis crossmember and Dodge Dakota A arms and rack and pinion and running the larger brakes they suggest. Pus it is also a bolt in. I've got everything here except the crossmember and caliper brackets to use with the bigger rotors.

It’s a bolt-in but wouldn’t you have to install boxing plates where the crossmember goes in?

They also have a kit to mount T bird independent rear suspension under an AD.

I’m still intrigued by this IFS. I’ve been looking at crossmembers and builds. I’m wondering if a traditional MII lower crossmember couldn’t be used with the Crown Vic lower control arm. Granted one would need to find out where the upper pivot points would need to be located. Taking a tape measure to the U- pull yard could yield that info. Of course an upper bracket mount would need to be fabricated and a lower rear bracket also.
Unfortunately, I already have MII spindles and control arms in the garage, I can’t see myself spending any more $$$. Just thinking out loud. |

I'd think you would have to do too much re-engineering on that to make it viable.
A fair part of what you are paying for the crossmember is for the hours they have in it engineering it.
