Gas Cap/Filler Neck

Hello,

The previous owner of my truck filled in the gas cap area...but, not very well. Honestly, I like the look of the gas cap sticking out - as it looks more finished. My question is, where is a good place to get these parts? Do I just need to cut part of the gas tank filler neck off so the cap has something to screw to - or is that sold as an assembly as well that connects to the rest of the filler neck?

My gas cap slides onto an aluminum round neck about 6 inches long which then slides onto a rubber boot that fits over the gas tank neck. It requires 2 large hose clamps. There is a rubber boot or grommet that fits between the tank neck and the body to fill in the space.

So the tank has been moved? When I moved my tank to the back I machined a cap and filler neck look alike out of a piece of 3" aluminum bar stock. Wanted no chance of someone pulling the cap and pumping gas into the cab. Got to love New Jersey the last state in the union where you are not allowed to pump your own gas. Depending on how they filled the hole will determine what it takes to un-fill it. The cab has a rolled lip that the grommet goes into and depending on how the welding was done will make or break getting it removed.

Ok, thanks for the help guys! Jimmy, yes - the tank is moved to the bed - it's just a keg that is used as a gas tank. Kind of cool, but not really my style, so I will be moving it under the bed at some point. I will probably have to get something made since most of my airride stuff keeps me from running a stock under the bed one. Regarding how it was filled in, I looked on the inside of the cab and it appears that the rolled lip is still there. I will snap a pic of that.
