1951 seat

Is the seat from a 1956 the same as the 1951?

no, the 51 uses a stand/slider that is welded to the floor and the 56 uses seat rails that bolt to the floor.

yes, you can maybe see in the picture, there is a flange on the base where they broke the spot welds and took the stand off the floor. a lot of 47-55.1 guys will do the same when they want to put in a different seat.

here is a picture I found of the riser with the spot welds cut.
