How odd will a 85 GMC look with a Chevy 81-82 front bumper?
I have a 85 GMCthat needs a front bumper,RH fender, RH verticle grille moulding. I found all 3 parts needed for $140 at my local salvage yard yesterday. Only thing is the bumper has parking lights made in it. I think the grille moulding is different also.
How odd would my 85 look with 2 sets of parking lights? I may could buy the grille and all off of the salvaged truck.Would it all fit from the 81-82 chevy to the 85 GMC? |

if anything take out the park/turn lights in the bumper and swap them for extra led driving light pods .

I'm with sweet: put some fog lamps or something down there in the bumper. K

I’d keep them-I can provide a harness for ya too-make them blink alternatively from front and side marker.

The 81-82 bumper will look fine. My truck is an 86 and it has that front bumper. Granted, mines a Chevy, but it gives you the idea on what the bumper will look like. And I say keep the parking lamps in the grille too.

Mine is an 86 with a 90 front end and an 81 bumper. That is one of the greatest things about these trucks...everything (well almost everything) is bolt on and they fit.

Re: How odd will a 85 GMC look with a Chevy 81-82 front bumper?
Do it either with driving lights, or keep the marker lights like a factory truck would. I went with an 85 or so grill and kept my 82s bumper for the look like TKCR shows. Don't have any pictures for whatever reason, but imagine his in shot in a different color.
I actually had gmachinz make me up a fresh front light wiring harness to put in, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. If the weather ever gets cooler, I will get at it. |
