Need help on correct lower radiator hose on LS swap
I just bought a 68 with LS swap. It did not have inner fenders when i got it. I am trying to put new ones on.
The bottom radiator hose is keeping the inner fender from going up to the bottom of the radiator support. It likes at least 1" and is hitting the hose. I am not sure what the radiator is out of. The bottom barb on the radiator is straight out and measures 1 3/4" in diameter. What molded hose (need part number) would give me the clearance that i need? Please help!! |

Re: Need help on correct lower radiator hose on LS swap
If you aren't using a stock (or common) rad, no way we'd know exactly which hose will work. If your fitting something custom, just ask your local Napa if you can peruse the rad hose catalog, or ask to look at the hose rack. I pulled a few hoses off the shelf, and returned the ones that didnt' fit. IIRC I started with a stock part, and cut ~2" off to fit my Be-Cool SBC rad.

Re: Need help on correct lower radiator hose on LS swap
Seems like an incorrect radiator as most that Ive seen have the lower radiator hose angled up. Im not sure you can get the stock fender in with a straight hose connection.

Re: Need help on correct lower radiator hose on LS swap
I've not done one yet that I didnt have to either cut off a hose or use 2 hoses to make one...
plus what was said above.....and I'd get rid of that ribbed style hose You can take a heavy wire and bend the shape you need the hose to be....,take that to the parts store and start looking
