My 65 LS swap fuel system
It took me a while to sort out my fuel system. I thought I would list my parts for others to see. My LS is an 09 LMG 5.3 with returnless fuel rails. I wanted to use AN fittings and hose for ease of installation. It could be done cheaper with more work. It took a while to wrap my head around all the fittings. Basically every connection needs an adapter to convert it to -6AN. Then every hose end needs an AN end on it to thread to the adapters. I bought AN Fittings Direct hose and I bought the wrong kind of ends before I realized you have to use their fittings on their hose. Here's what I have:
TANK: Tanks Inc. USPT-GH 16 gal 23 x 17 x 10 SENDING UNIT: TAN-SW 240 ohm empty, 33 ohm full PUMP: GPA4 in tank pump Corvette filter/regulator Fittings: Pump: (2) Russell 660443 1/4"npt to -6AN filter/reg: (1) Russell 644123 push on to -6AN (1) Russell 640863 push on to -6AN (1) Russell 640940 3/8" push in to -6AN Fuel rail: (1) Russell 644123 push on to -6AN Hose: AN Fittings Direct # ANF001200 PTFE S/S braided Hose ends: AN Fittings Direct (4) ANF001253 straight (1) ANF001256 45 deg (1) ANF001259 90 deg |

Re: My 65 LS swap fuel system
Based purely on google image searches, don't use that Russell 640863 for the 5/16 line. Those plastic clips can fail and you'll have a fuel leak.
Summit says the part number you want is 644113

Ya the other two push on fittings I got are the better style with the thread on retainer collar. I think it's more important that the fuel rail one is the better quality fitting. Down on the filter there is less chance of line movement with the line and filter clamped to the frame. |
