Tips on a place in nor-cal that has original key blanks
So i bought a set of key blanks from a seller on this forum.
Great blanks and i have no regrets. I went to my local hole in the wall place in mountain view, CA to have them cut. The older Japanese guy who owns the place told me he bought a whole box of those GM blanks for 72 GMC/Blazer in the 70s and he still has most of them. Its the original GM blanks with the GM logo on them. If anyone local to the bay area need a key cut to a 70s GMC or blazer i recommend stopping by "Model shoe repair" on Dana street near downtown mountain view. The address is 621 W Dana St, Mountain View, CA 94041 When i was there earlier in the week he was asking for $3.50 per blank, 50 cents for the plastic cover in case you want that on the top of the blank and a dollar to cut the key. I've been going to him for 20 years for shoe repairs and key cutting, its an old-school shop. Hope this helps anyone out who may need a key. |
