Does the 91' suburban speedo require a pull-up resistor?

I've read that a 1k ohm pull-up resistor is required for driving stock tachometers off the LSx ecm's. I can't find any info saying whether or not the same thing is needed for the 91' electronic speedometers.

Can anyone confirm that the 91' speedometer will work fine with no pull-up resistor?
