Seat belt opinion
Gentlemen, today on Mack worries about things that don’t matter I present the following:
Previous owner installed a 88-94ish seat in my 63 along with the shoulder belts and lap belt. The seat was reupholstered with pleats and kinda fits the vibe of said truck, but to me the plastic belts stick out like a sore thumb. I’m not a purist, but I do want my truck to look right for the period. That’s immaterial in this case though as I realized mine where for show anyway when my 8 year old pulled the belt clean out of the b pillar. Im looking at the following designs for replacements. I know the metal ones where used in 80s Chevrolet’s but I think they fit the 60s styling well enough. The font on the plastic ones matches the font on my dash knobs well enough. I’m going with black either way. Which would you choose? Last edited by Mack B; 10-21-2019 at 04:02 PM. Reason: Poet and didn’t know it |

Re: Seat belt opinion
Just as an FYI to all the OEM Seat belt installers. In the factory installation manual there were hooks offered to hang the lap belt up so it would not fall out of the truck. There were just the coat hooks offered in 55-59 from the GM Line for the cars. Cost $5.00 a set.
If you use the metal latch type design, drill a 1/2" hole on the center and you can hook them up. When I got to shows I have to explain to the judges that they are factory OEM options.

Re: Seat belt opinion
I am glad someone has been struggling with the same thing! I will be going with either the latch or GM Logo.
