4 core radiator in a 76 What do I need?
I want to replace the aftermarket 2 core radiator in my 76 pickup with a good 4 core from an 84 silverado. The width is the same, but the 4 core is about 2" taller. I'm guessing I need a new top plate? Where to find one? Thanks!

Don't forget the upper and lower radiator cushions--they're likely different.

Re: 4 core radiator in a 76 What do I need?
Thanks for the info, I THINK I have it figured out. I wasn't aware that there was two styles of radiators, short and tall. I have the short which is original to my truck. Looks like a top plate, cushions and a few nuts welded in and I'll be good. My next thing is going to be replacing the T350 with a 400 tranny.

You need a taller fan shroud too. I got my parts from LMC Truck when I swapped mine out.

Thanks, I didn't think about the shroud being different. My truck has a 350 engine, Is the top plate for the tall radiator the same for all engines? I'm going to the salvage yard Saturday and they should have several plates already taken off.

You may have to get out your tape measure.
Height and width can vary but I thought the thickness of the tank was the same with more or fewer rows of tubes in the core that was soldered onto the ends. Measure from tank to tank at the join for the width and the height of the tank at the join for the height.
