WTB 3 speed overdrive transmission

Looking for a 1965 or newer 3 speed overdrive transmission.
It needs to have the 7 bolt side cover.

Re: WTB 3 speed overdrive transmission

Got one here in Georgia. I haven't gotten it cleaned up or taken any pics of it yet, but it has the entire wiring harness, relay, solenoid, governor, and lockout cable. The solenoid engages when power is put to it. I will stick the relay onto the wiring harness in my truck to see if it works. Also will check to see the condition of the governor and cap. Only thing that is missing is the kickdown switch on the carburetor. Engine had already been pulled from the truck.

Re: WTB 3 speed overdrive transmission

Thank you for the reply.
I have someone in Kansas that thinks he has one.
I would prefer it since it is closer.
Going to be a few days to get an answer because of the snow.
Can you wait until the end of the week?

Yes, I can wait. I'm working as a driver helper for UPS, so I probably won't be able to check all the things until this weekend anyways

Re: WTB 3 speed overdrive transmission

cwcarpenter, if Red68 passes, I am possibly interested in your OD transmission, and I'm not far from you. If he definitely goes in a different direction, and you are still interested in selling, shoot me a PM. I am in no hurry and do not under any circumstances want to jump the line, if he needs it I'd rather he have it.

Re: WTB 3 speed overdrive transmission

Hey Mike, Red68 has first dibs. If he doesn't take it, I'll be putting it up for sale on the board. Will probably be after Christmas until I get it ready to go as I'm working 6+ hours a day delivering packages with UPS. Gotta pay for truck parts somehow

Re: WTB 3 speed overdrive transmission

Just bought an overdrive trans from SHORTSTEP60.
So CWcarpenter let MikeN have a go at your transmission.
These forums really help when someone like me is trying to find hard to find parts

Ike, thanks for letting me know. I hope you enjoy your new trans. I've got a 4 bolt side cover in my 63, and I absolutely love it.

Mike, it looks like I might not be able to do the testing and cleaning until after Christmas. UPS is always super busy this time of year which keeps me busy too!

I replied to your PM before I read this post. I'll grab the shift arms for you as well.

Re: WTB 3 speed overdrive transmission

Thanks again, I’m looking forward to getting it installed. Going to have it freshened while I do my homework on a correct installation. Hoping to have it up and running early summer.

Heck yeah man! If you've got any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I love sharing the knowledge that I've gained about these transmissions
