Transmission Swap 66 C10
I have been working on a 66 C10 restoration for 4 years, I am finally at the point where I need to figure out my new transmission. The truck came from the factory with a 283 engine, 3 on the tree transmission and 3.73 12 bolt rear end. I think my transmission hump would be considered low profile. Do any of you folks know of an OD automatic or 5 speed swap that will fit in with the low profile hump?

Re: Transmission Swap 66 C10
I have a low hump. I have a 350 engine and a 200R4 transmission set up that fits. I used the POL engines stands, with them you must trim back the upper frame rail a bit on each side. The trans cross-member is also from POL.

I have a 350 tied to a 700R4 with a low hump. Best upgrade I've done to the truck.

Re: Transmission Swap 66 C10
swapped a T5 into my 66 C10 283/3OTT/3.73, no regrets other than the fact that I sold the truck... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=482069
