stock vaccuum guage hook up
recently bought a dash bezel with the stock tach in it.it was in a 72 chev1/2 ton 2wd.i didnt notice at 1st but in the hole next to the oil pressure thats usually empty on most other trucks ive seen was what im told is the vaccuum gauge.it kind of threw me off because theres no wording on the plastic lens cover, its been scrapped off im assuming.Im wondering how to hook this up properly and just how rare an option is this or if it even came in the 70-72 1/2 ton models?

Not an option in the 10-30 pick ups. In the bigger trucks it was avaliable though...possably on 30's...not sure on that though.
Just run a vacume line to manifold vacume...any port on the intake, or on the lower 1/2 of the carb. If it only reads once you tap the throttle, then you need to look for another vac port that is lower. |

does the bezel have a piece of plastic blocking off the area where the steering column goes? if it does, it is from a C/40-60 series. even if it doesn't, I am about 99% sure that the vac or air pressure gauge were never available on the 10-30 series, and it just has a correct replacement bezel for a 10-30 series.

Also note the text for the guage. This one is an air pressure unit, but the vac set up is the same. |

most vendors sell the tach/vacuum dashes new for 500 bucks. they go for more than that used because they are original
