Re: 66 C10 Headlamp Ground Wiring
I'd do a continuity check to ground if you do that.

IMO GM really cheaped out on their headlight wiring. How thick is that original ground wire, #18? I can't remember exactly which hole it goes to.

Re: 66 C10 Headlamp Ground Wiring
Where you have that eye with the wire attached I see a sheet metal screw coming out in the forward direction. That would mean the wire gets attached on the back side. I saw this by taking the ring off. I did not see a wire behind it, just assume it is there. I think I'd have to take the grill off to see it properly.
Edit: And seeing I have been messing with them there is no guarantee that they are as original. |

Re: 66 C10 Headlamp Ground Wiring
It looks like you have recently painted the headlamp bracket. Do yourself a favor and put a star washer between the ring terminal and the headlamp bracket. The washer will dig through the paint and ensure continuity, not just counting on the screw to cut the paint with it's threads.
The threads of the 3 bolts that hold the bracket to the grille panel are the next path electricity takes to get back to the negative battery cable. |
