Bed wood install with wider wheel tubs & Blazer fuel tank
Because of the wheel tire combo my daughter picked the stock bed wheel tubs would not work. I got tubs 6” wider than stock. I have a Mar-K bed wood kit for a stock short bed fleet with all the hide away stainless steel fasioners.
Anybody complete this task that can give advance warning of any potential issues ? I also installed a blazer fuel tank, without dropping the fuel tank, now way to get the bed bolts in that Sill above the fuel tank. Thinking to leave them out and use flat bar To install the trim bolts in front the relocated fuel tank ? Any thoughts, or experiences ?

Re: Bed wood install with wider wheel tubs & Blazer fuel tank
I run all Mar-K bed components and widened my wheel tubs to accomodate 31x12.5 tires, and I have a rear gas tank. I mapped everything out from the bedwood to the wheel tub mount locations. In my case, I raised the bed floor 1 inch, so I had to redrill the wheel tub mounts in the inner bedside. Here are a few photos during and after:

You did some excellent work, thanks for sharing.
To raise the bed floor 1” did you Raise the perimeter mounting flange on the bed sides and the front of the bed?

Re: Bed wood install with wider wheel tubs & Blazer fuel tank
Thanks! I machined 0.25" spacers for the existing perimeter edging that the bedwood originally mounted below. This allowed me to mount the bedwood on top of the edging. I then fabricated new edging for the top and stamped the square holes for the carriage bolts. I machined 0.75" aluminum spacers to sit between the bed sill crossmembers and the frame mounts.
I mainly did this because I run a high-pressure electric fuel pump (eventually want to go to EFI) and have several return lines to the top of the tank that needed clearance for the AN fittings (you can see in that first pic).

I have an early mustang tank and I cut about an inch off of the cross sills and welded reinforcements so that the bed would still bolt up to the cross sills.
