Shifter
I am rebuilding a SM420 to put in my 66, does anybody here remember if the stick was gloss black or flat or was it just bare? It seems maybe they were bare but it was a long time ago.

Re: Shifter
By no means a subject matter expert, but I can only recall semi-gloss black paint or rust/oil on any shift rods for the SM 420.

Re: Shifter
I got all the old paint off, I don’t think they came bare from the factory, too shiny. Looks like music mans is kind of flat or semi gloss, guess ill go with that. Funny that with all the miles I have spent with these transmissions I never paid much attention to the actual stick.
