Headlight switch remove

Afternoon all,
I did a search on this and didn't find an answer. Is the bezel for the headlight switch the actual nut or is it just a cover and the nut underneath it. I don't want to wreck it as I understand they're hard to find. Is there a source for a new one if needed? It's a 1965 C10. Thanks.

Re: Headlight switch remove

The bezel is male threaded and the headlight switch itself has a built in nut/female threaded.

If you want to remove the knob and stem...you have to look behind the dash where the switch is, pull the switch out as you were turning headlights on then there will be a small button usually on right side that you have to push and hold then pull the knob out and your done.

Re: Headlight switch remove

All I've ever seen the bezel is the "nut"...remove the plunger by mashing the button on the switch body..remove the plunger and the bezel should screw out of the switch...
Heres a video of one for a car , but same concept... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DH1WlwLN12Y

Re: Headlight switch remove

Thanks Guys. I think the threads were seized and the bezel wouldn't break free. I ended up drilling it out. Unfortunately the bezel did not survive but it looks like Classic Parts has them. Just a simple headlight swap!
