Unhappy disc brakes pulling and making alot of dust??

i have a 97 1500 4x4. I bought this truck used a few months back. noticed alot of brake dust on the left front wheel. Sense then i have put a set of polished wheels on and now it is very noticable. the truck also pulls to the left while braking but as soon as you release the brakes it qiutes pulling. i have jacked it up and checked for a hanging brake but found nothing. The pads are fairly new as are the rotor. I think someone must have put cheep brakes on this truck before selling it, becaus the rotors are glazed and squeal badly with light pressure adn sometimes after being released. i ruffed up the rotors and they were ok for about a day(no noise). could this be a bad hose, or caliper cauesing them to hang just enough to squeek adn caues dust? I want to fix this but dont want to throw parts at it.
Thanks for the info in adv. Seth

Make sure the caliper slides are lubed up. I had that same problem with mine and I was going through passenger side brake pads about every 3 months. If they arent lubed, go to autozone and buy a couple packets of it they have at the counter for $.99

just put ball joints in about 3 months back. Sanded down and lubed the slides with high temp anti-seize.

It could also be the rubber brake line that connects to the caliper. It may have collapsed on itself inside and is retricting flow. Other that that, I'm out of ideas

take a look to your brake fluid. is it dark? if it is you will have to bleed the entire beake system. if you go and buy the mightyvac brake bleeder kit and brake fluid, i suggest 2 of the large bottles. my 92 was haveing this problem and i bled the brakes to get out the dust from not cleaning the calipers propelry before putting in new pads. you may look into disc brake anti squeal compound. you put it on the metal parts that rest against the caliper.

never thought of that. How does that effect brake performance? Does it gum up the piston bores??

on my truck it was doing the same thing and it was that the line had collapsed in the inside and looked fien from the outside. then it happened again so i replaced the proportioning valve and that did it.

i have put on a brake hose. no more problems with exesive dust but i still have a pull to the left. also when i installed the hose i bought a set of speed bleeders because i was going to be alone during the repair. what a great product. just screw them in, back a 1/4 turn out and stomp the brakes. alittle more messy though in my opinon. anyway the i waited so ling to make this repair that left rotor is warped now. i guess next brake job i will do rotors, calipers, and pads
