Re: 6L90 Column Shift questions
I have seen the Lokar shift cable used by some. I went with the rod kit for the 68 step. It was a 700-R4 though.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: 6L90 Column Shift questions
I used the original column and the top half of the shift linkage. I bought a lokar linkage kit. From that I used about 6" of the rod and a rod end bearing and welded the two halves together.
The slip bolt used on the original linkage helped with setup, and means that only throw length and transmission shift lever angle need to be worked out to get a good working setup. My 6l90e has P R N D M 1 which matches to the P R N D 3 2 1 of the original. Some 6L90 have an extra quadrant for a different pattern. You may not be able to use this with the linkage setup. M is also D4 and enables TUTD. HP Tuners, and I assume other tuning software, can change some of the drive quadrants.

Re: 6L90 Column Shift questions
Attached are some pictures.
Where the rod gets narrower near the transmission is the lokar piece. The rod may be difficult to spot when looking between the transmission and frame rail, but it is just behind the trans cooler hoses. I made a heat shield here. It obscures the view from above. My only complaint is the bit of slack in my original column.
