LMC truck parts...shipping ??

I just attempted to order the three fuel related steel lines from the tank to the fuel pump for 1986 Suburban C20. The parts came to around $200, but they wanted $90 for shipping !! They claim there is a $20 oversize added charge for each oversize item...but...since all three steel lines will come in the same box...that seems wicked excessive. Obviously, I found another vendor that charged $27 shipping for the order. I bought a 40 gallon steel gas tank from them last year for $125...shipping was only around $20 !

Check with Inline Tube. They are generally the supplier to all the resellers for fuel and brake line stuff...not sure if their shipping will be any cheaper though.

Take the inline tube part number and check ebay, most of the time ebay has free shipping.

You really have to shop around when it comes to shipping,I have bought parts based on shipping over the actual cost,I ordererd a part from california once,Item was $12 and shipping was $15,and the part was not big or heavy

Whern I ordered from inline tube there was a big fee for oversized package also, but that was many years ago. I agree you really have to shop based not just on price but shipping. I always had that complaint about RockAuto. Great prices, outrageous shipping.

Re: LMC truck parts...shipping ??

Thanks guys...I took your advice and found a vendor that will ship the same exact parts for $27 ! USA-1 Restoration Parts was the name...let's see if the order actually goes through with that shipping cost ! I was surprised that Rock Auto does not do fuel lines ?

Not trying to derail topic but Rock Auto also doesn't have a number to call if you have a problem. I ordered six shocks, four for the front of my '88 K5. When order arrived one box was different color but had same part number as the others. Put on shelf till I had all the parts to begin restoration. Wouldn't you know it, I went to install shocks and five were silver (KYB) and the one in the odd color box...was white! Didn't find in 30 days so SOL!!! Also ordered AC Delco plugs twice and got Autolite both times! Uuugghh!

Customer service is seriously lacking in so many businesses these days! I'm 64 and remember when CS was the goal. Not so nowadays.

Can't count the times I was ready to buy from LMC but the shipping caused me to shop elsewhere. Vote with your dollars!

I fully agree with the others suggesting Inline tube they have been great with all of my trucks and you can buy direct with them too as opposed to Ebay once youve ordered they generally give you a discount coupon too

LMC has always been on the high side of shipping prices...

The last lines I ordered from LMC still had labels from The Right Stuff on them, LMC is just reselling their lines. www.getdiscbrakes.com

Re: LMC truck parts...shipping ??

The trick with LMC is order $1,000 worth of parts for the free shipping. Not great if you need a few things but if you are doing a restoration, etc. its worth placing one big order. It applies to truck freight with them as well.
