1966 GMC engine

Howdy, I have a 1966 GMC C15 long bed. It has the 305 V6 with a granny 4speed. The V6 is frozen and I have a line on an in-line 6 from a '65 c10. Could any tell me if the in-line 6 is compatible with my current transmission? Thank you.

Yes. The Chevy 230-250 was an option on '64-'66 GMC's. But, you will need the straight 6 bellhousing and 230-250 motor mounts also. You will need to relocate or lengthen the alternator wiring harness too ( located on right side of engine for V6--left side of engine on straight 6.

Re: 1966 GMC engine

There is a guy in Dallas that has a lot of v6’s if that’s what your going for.
The in-line you would need the motor perches for it to work.
Pm me and I’ll send you his contact info.
