relay type and quality

Looking for some opinions on. is there a big quality difference in different brands of relays that are used on cooling fans and fuel pump. I just blew one on the ecm that was installed when I sent my harness out to get it re worked.(2 relays 4 fuses) Everyone I have sent out comes back with the standard type relay set up. Are people replacing these with better quality relays?
Your thoughts.

Re: relay type and quality

One of my pet peeves is cheap relays. I use these.

Re: relay type and quality

would you change the socket also or just the relay?

Re: relay type and quality

The aftermarket harnesses I've bought used Hella. Never had a failure. I've used Painless fan kits with good success. What ever you use make sure they are rated for the max amp draw.

Re: relay type and quality

quick question. All my relays are 4 prong. Can I use 5 prong relays on four prong applications? Thanks

doesn't sound like factory fuse layout... probably overloading the circuits? never understood why people who rework harness do that type of quality...
