And that was the lowest quote. The highest was 1500.00.

I was quoted 500.00 for the same job about a year and ago incredible

Re: help needed

Maybe He's so swamped with work He's had to jack his prices up as a means of controlling volume. And then there's also the whole supply chain crisis. I know in my business, costs are skyrocketing.

Re: help needed

Yea I figured as much. I found another guy who can do it for 500.00 but he wont swap the manifold , so I will swap the manifold and fab up some down pipes to connect to my old system and have him install a new system.

Re: help needed

Well I got it done. A little trimming to make the Langdon's fit, and a little grinding down on the Clifford's mounting ears and all went well or so I thought.
I used a manifold stud kit ,but one stud was to long, so I purchased one and the manifolds were on!
I striped the alternator adjusting bolt hole, the helicoil came out, so I went up one size and used a nut,
The fan spacer was a pain in the rear! It took me way longer than I expected,
All that is left is to install the down pipes, and connect them to the old ratty system, then off to the muffler shop

Do you think you could share the name of this shop. I need some exhaust for my truck and don't want to spend a G to get it done and doing it myself would not be fun. It might come down to that though.

Re: help needed

Those are great Sal and I prefer manifolds myself, but what made you decide to remove the headers?

Thanks. The headers were the long tube type and the collector flange was about 3 inches off the road making speedbumps and some driveways a no go.
I picked up the Langdon's and down pipes for a great deal off of Craig's List a while back. With my exhaust system needing replacing I figured it was time to swap them out and get a little more clearance , well as much as I can with the X frame.
