Odd 64-66 Stepside in Music Video - What Is It???
I was going thru some old videos on Youtube today and found a video of a 60's song and it has video footage of a 1960's street. Someone in the comments says it's Sunset Ave in Hollywood (never been there so I don't know) so it's in the U.S. and not an oddball foreign truck.
It looks like a longbed stepside, but there are no steps and the rear fenders look drastically differant. It has also got 3 bed stakes in the sideboards so I know it isn't a shortbed. You can see it between 2:04 and 2:07 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MqwaGlK5ds Sorry, I can't get a picture of it. What the heck is this?

Either where someone got rid of the forward "hump", or grafted Checker Marathon rear fenders

Judging by the age of the video it looks to be in the mid 60's (I remember seeing a 65 Impala convertable) I'd tend to say it's not really old enough to be a modified monstrosity somebody had cobbled together. It only looks to be a couple years old.

Looks like the owner had some wood skills and put a square piece of wood in that gap area next to the fender

I agree with MusicMan70
The factory step is still there, just covered by the box that was built. Definitely a 8ft stepside. If it was a 9ft step side, there would be 4 stake pockets
