Transmission Identification
I have a 1966 C10 Long bed, originally a 292 and 4-speed with granny gear. I believe I have a Muncie SM420, some of the numbers match images I've seen, but I can't find a letter on the case that matches the ID documentation I read here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=327764
Above the PTO mine has: 1225 8 GM 3837334 At the rear 591701 GM 2 |

My Sm420 the shift pattern is reverse is to the driver's side and down.

Thanks for the info! My reverse is in the same location as well. The photos on that page look pretty close, numbers are off again though.
