1966 chevy C10 Backup light tapered Mount
Hello
does anyone know where I can get a tapered mount for the backup light on a 66 stepside or for that matter the fenders with the stamped light mount. |

Re: 1966 chevy C10 Backup light tapered Mount
I have been looking for 5+ years. Have not come across any reproductions. I did manage to get a partial NOS back up light kit off ebay. It was for the late 50's trucks - stepside fenders the same. It came with only one of the rubber mounts! I asked around a couple of places that make their own rubber restoration pieces (Steele Rubber, etc), no one was interested in using my one example to make a production run. I was thinking of maybe using my one rubber pad to make a mold, and cast another one. My neighbour thinks it might be easier to carve one out of several thick sheets of rubber. Or, by the time I get around to installing back up lights, maybe I will have found another (or even a set!) rubber pad by then.
I have seen the stepside fenders off 1966 trucks (with the mounting pad stamped in to the metal) for sale more often than I have seen the rubber mounting pads for sale.

Maybe someone could 3D print these. Mine are off of a 62 panel, hard as a rock...maybe there different on stepside trucks, 3D print and put a thin rubber gasket under them.

Seems like an obvious question...do other/newer year trucks have something similar?

Re: 1966 chevy C10 Backup light tapered Mount
That is cool. I did not realize the mounting pad was the same for stepsides and panel trucks.
