Topless Reactions
It's really amazing to me how much more people react when my Blazer's top is down. I have a Softopper, and it's not unusual for me to get a thumbs-up or a "Nice truck!" when I have the sides rolled up. But when I put the top down and the Blazer is in what I consider to be its most natural form, it's constant. People come up to me in parking lots to talk about the Blazer. People wave as I'm driving past and I see people taking pictures while I'm driving down the road. I would say I get ten times the reactions when the top is down.
I commented to my wife how different the reaction to the Blazer is with the top down, and she agreed that it's just a more beautiful truck that way.

Re: Topless Reactions
Agree these K5's look great topless! What amazes me is how quite the K5 is with the top off - a whole different driving experience.

Re: Topless Reactions
My 70 never had the top off in 53 years. When I put it back together, it will not be wearing the top. I like the look of it better without the top on it.

Re: Topless Reactions
10 years ago my boys were 4 & 7, they were buckled in the rear seat as the State of Florida request. We were pulling in to gas up and my oldest says "Dad, the police are after us". I chuckled as those days are way passed me now. As I hopped out to gas up, there was a FHP Trooper behind me. HE exits, lid well down upon his eyebrows, maybe to hide his youth. He asked me if I had cut the top off of my truck. I said, No that Blazers were made with a removable hardtop. He fully inspects the Blazer emblem, looks the entire rig over thoroughly. He pushes back his hat and smiles "I have never saw anything like this" revealing he was probably born in the late 80's. He asked a few questions, I asked if the seat belts and car seats were up to snuff in the back, he concurred they were.

Re: Topless Reactions
Back in 94 I saw a orange 69 swb truck with the roof cut off of it, I thought that was the coolest thing. And I told myself it I ever found a blazer I was gonna build me a roadster.
I 96 I found a blazer but the guy wouldn't sell it, said he was gonna fix it up. How many times have we heard that story. So 19 years later the guy walks I to the store I worked at and ask me if I still wanted his blazer and I said that I would like to look at it. Anyways later that day I had a wrecker bring it to my shop. After 7 yrs of cut grind and rebuild I have my blazer roadster, and it should be finished with paint in a couple weekends. Can't wait to take that 1st ride with the wife. Love the topless look.

Re: Topless Reactions
I always say the same thing, It's so much quieter without the top. You can actually talk to the person beside you.
