Airbag light 17 silverado

I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado 4x4 1500 Crew cab truck. The airbag error light is on in the dash and message center. Local mechanic ran codes and found out that there was a bad airbag/collision sensor and a seat belt code. I replaced the faulty sensor under the core support. We cleared the code, just to have it to return again. Does anyone know what to look for when there is a seat belt problem. Truck has 110,000 mile on it. the code just came on 9,000 miles ago. Thanks

Seat belts are grounded. May e the ground wore stripped out of the mounting eyelet.

One key thing to remember is that codes indicate a problem in a circuit, not always a specific diagnosis. The sensor could have been faulty, but so could a wire, etc. Old-school diagnostic basics aren't dead yet. ;-)

Check wiring harnesses for damage, grounds for corrosion, etc. Good luck!
