What the hell did I break???
In the adventure of removing a stuck rotor, I watched YouTube and saw someone use a bolt to the bracket to break the rotor from the hub.
Of course this snapped mine off. And I just want to cry now, I ordered the brake setup for the back. FedEx was supposed to deliver today I took off today again and they sent me a text saying it will be tomorrow! How difficult is this part to replace, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your time and help. Chevy 3500 parts stores are no help.

Re: What the hell did I break???
1" nut spins wrench I can't fit a ratchet in the space, thinking I may have to access one side of the u bolts to access it. If anyone has any other options to get this done, please share. Thanks in advance, advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: What the hell did I break???
Got this last nut off, had to take two nuts of the rear u bolts. I took the snap ring off of the hub the locking key and the retainer the hub will not come off I've taped it was a rubber mallet. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: What the hell did I break???
This is quite a brain teaser for me. I'm used to drum brakes so I figured I would wait to see what the disc brake guys have to say. I was surprised how long I had to look at the photos to get my eyes coordinated to what I was looking at. Maybe other guys are getting cross eyed too. I still can't tell what yo broke but I assume some caliper mount. Do you need a whole new hub or just a bracket behind the hub? I hope you have a diagram of how it goes together and verify no hidden clips because i would be using the 13 lb sledge at this point. I thought I could bring up a quick diagram but I'm not finding any 3500's with rear discs but I know they made them. Anyway it looks like your are stuck doing a hub change so good luck. If there are no hidden clips or bolts I would use a bigger hammer.

Re: What the hell did I break???
Is there some sort of trick to get the axle back in, I'm turning it trying to get it to mesh with no luck.

Re: What the hell did I break???
I hope you got it in by now. I don't usually have any drama putting them in but I kinda picture that axle coming in a little low of the hole so I may be unconsciously twisting upward on the axle to get the other end to come up to the hole. I think if you just slide it in, the weight of the axle will make it drop a little and be low of the hole.
