I'm building a '72 LWB 4x4 and it's got some rust on it. Rather than fix the rust I'm going to look for a solid bed, and possibly a new cab. In the mean time, I'm going to do a camo job on the truck for fun. I want to see some camo paint jobs that others have done for some ideas!!

All done by hand with spray cans. It has 2 summers and touch ups are easy with a can of flat black when needed.

I thought about doing the snow camo like that or even a desert camo scheme, but I have a bunch of olive drab spraypaint already so I'm probably going to stick with that. I am trying to decide whether to do a pattern similar to yours, or to do something more like a tigerstripe pattern.

Sweet! Olive drab rocks!!! lol I had a 71 lwb 4x that I painted olive drab, and I though it looked sweet! I sold it a couple of years ago. I sure did get some "looks' driving it around, but that was the whole point! LOL

I'm picking up some wheels tomorrow, the Black Steel Rockcrawlers. I figure that should go well with the "military" look.
I still haven't decided whether to paint the bumpers and mirrors! lol

My current project is the restoration of a 72 swb stepside 4x4. The truck was originally purchased army surplus. When I first got it it was gloss olive drab. The first time I painted I did it in forest green with sand highlites and flat black abstract bird figures on it.
I used the U.S. Army field guide to paint the patterns. It looked real good and got many compliment on the paint job. I don't know if I have any picture of my truck when it was all together, but I can probably take some pictures of the parts in the back yard. Gendres doors, and hood.

That sounds really cool. I think I'm going to paint mine with a flat olive drab base coat, and then decide what do do from there. I just picked up a set of black powdercoat 16x8 rockcrawlers today that should look really good with the camo paint job.

I sold it a couple of years ago. I sure did get some "looks' driving it around, but that was the whole point! LOL __________________ current project 67 402BB stout th350 3.08's with a locker. Plan on tubs 18.5's out back! (thanks Burnsman!) 71 SWB Stepside, was a 250, now is a 402 Big Block with 4 speed and 3.73's ( was crushed by a tree, bed sold, motor pulled) was my first truck!... oh well... 72 LWB 4x4 350 4-speed 3.08's posi wearing army olive drab green (SOLD!) 68 BURB 50TH LOOKALIKE work in progress, soon to have 250-I6 with a 3-speed on the tree 4.11's and posi ( currently sitting in back yard tarped awaiting time, $$$, and lots of love!) 67 1 TON- work truck 396 sm 420 4-speed, flat bed 4.57 gears "big red" (my first landscape truck, very rusty and crusty! but still gets the job done when needed!)
