Rebuilt Master cylinder? wrong one..
Hello!
I have a 1972 chevy c-10 350, power brakes, front disk brakes. This weekend I found out my MC was bad, I had no back brakes. I got a rebuilt unit, it was a different but I was not sure if the one that was on was the right one or not. I was looking through a parts book and saw the new one should be for Manual Brakes, it has a larger front reservoir then the rear, the one I took off had them botth the same size, and that one looks like it is the correct one for Power Brakes. I assume I should get the correct one, it does work, is this a bad thing? What will happen if I do not change it? Thanks for any help Bruce |

A lot of master cyl have different size chambers.Quite a few years will fit our trucks. When You go to a parts house that dosen't carry resto parts you get what they have.Yes it will work fine if it is for disc front. Also welcome to the board!

I went through three of those because they kept leaking out of the cap, so I got this one and it doesn't leak.

Thanks fot the replies.
This looks like a good place to be a member. I will be slowly restoring my truck over the next several years, and will hang out here a bunch. So far it is in good shape for the year, the body has a few little dents, and the rockers will need to be replaced, but otherwise then that it has very little rust. It will be a fun project. Thanks Bruce |
