2000 GMC Jimmy
Abs brake light comes on intermitently. The dealer says that the codes are coming back as brakes and both front wheels then says that the abs sensor is bad.
Does anybody have any experience with this or ideas as what to do. Is a new rotor needed? or can the sensor be cleaned. This is a newly bought used car with 86,000 on the clock. Can corosion from sitting on the lot cause something that can be easily fixed. Thanks in advance.-

This is probably a long shot, but are the tires the same front and rear? That is to say, same brand, size, are the rears new and fronts worn, or visa versa. If the tires are even a little different size the computer relates to it as wheel slip and will cause the ABS light to come on intermittently. My dad had this problem with a 2000 GMC Sonoma that he put slightly wider tires on the back of.

THanks for the reply! I am 99% sure they are all the same. THis is actually a friends truck. So I will check with him when he gets into work and tell him to make sure they are all inflated the same and get back to you all. Thanks again.
