looking for body
hello!! i am new here and need a little help. i have a 1989 sub and well, it was my first 4x4 and it went places no sub should have and i trashed it pretty good. now im older wiser and wishing i haddent broke it in the first place. i live in wisconsin and the rust hasent been kind to me, the underside from the second doors back is fairly shot and so are the rockers. i was thinking of welding in some thin diamond plate steel and basicly rebuilding the back half from the style line down , and the interior cargo space. but while i am capable of doing so it might be cheaper to find a doner with a blown engine or that got front end hit. any advice? also the shackles that hold the back of the front springs are broke, the inside bar on both sides is the only thing holding the springs up. dose anyone know if the upper mount is solid with two threded pins that the bars go onto or is that a large bolt that slides thru the block and frame? the outer pins/bolt ends snapped off! if its a bolt that goes thru then the only thing saving me is the rock hard rust holding the rest of the bolt in. i will try to get some pictures on soon, i just put a 2 inch lift from rough cruontry in and it lookes great. i am also running a set of 33x9.50 tires on it , they work great with the 2 inch lift. thanks for all advice and direction. lief@baysat.net 715-274-2234
