front shackles

hello !! i have a rookie question that i need an answer for . i just put a two inch lift on my suburban and while changing the front leafs i was shocked to discover that the outside bar on both sides was broken off the upper mount!! the bolt snapped at the frame. what i need to know is , is the mount a block of steel with two threaded "pegs" or is it a block of steel with a hole for a bolt? i live in wisconsin so rust is a problem and if this is a broken bolt then it being rusted in place is the only thing saving the other side from comming out! the diagrams i have of the part all show a bolt running through the "block" but mine is so rusted that it appears to be one piece . is it ????
this is also my daily driver so i cant start playing with it ( taking it apart ) untill i know for sure. thanks, brian770 lief@baysat.net 715-274-2234

Outside bar meaning the shackle itself? It is a 7/16" bolt running through a steel sleeve which inturn is held in a larger steel sleeve by the rubber bushing. You could replace the rubber bushing w/ a poly bushing. The ones ORD sell for about $15 includes the poly bushing, steel sleeve and new 1/2 grade 8 bolt. You need to go ahead and replace it.
