need advice on how to remove springs
my delima is how do I lift the frame safely to remove the springs in the rear and front. The frame is about 32inches on its lowest point. Any recomendations on how to lift the frame?

we built custom jack stands for my buddies truck, he has about 14 inches of lift with 39 inch tires, we also put smaller tires on it when it goes in the shop which lowers it quite abit.

when i lifted my truckwe used a bumper jack and some 20 ton jack stands. you could probably use a cherry picker on the back but i think the front would be to heavy.

would removing both tires in the back lowering the frame on to 3 ton jack stands sitting on top of two cinderblocks work?

fug no, cinder blocks are weak, why not get some steel and build bigger jack stands. put a jack under the axle, lift it off the ground, take off the tires, lower the jack till you can put jack stands under, youll need the jack under the axle any way to relieve the pressure off the springs from all the weight hanging down. Dont use cinder blocks, you can break a cinder block by dropping it, you wanna crawl under a 5000 pound truck held up by these?

Pic please. I recommend jacking up the front or rear and removing the tires then get some tall jack stands under the frame. 32" to the bottom of the frame that's tall. Do one end first.

Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm |
