replace pittman arm and idle arm??
I'm putting in a lift kit and plan on replacing the following:
ball joints tie rod ends should I also replace the idler arm and pittman arm while I'm in there?? It's only about an extra $70-$80 for both. I don't want to replace if it makes no sense, but since I'm in there it would be easy to. btw, it's on an '89 suburban 2wd with 115k miles on it. |

Ya I would replace them but the pitman arm is a PITA you have to unbolt the steering box and swivil it back to get a puller on it.

???
I was able to yank my pitman pretty easy on my truck, but of course it's a '69. A Puller and patience is all that was required. To answer your question I would replace them. Both have greasable joints just like your tie rods and ball joints. Might as well start off with a good steering system.
