hmmm...not to sure dude, check and see who had gone from a 72 and convereted it to the 73-87. possibly the same concept.

Yes , you can swap it. you should be able to bolt the complete eng cradle under the truck with only a couple holes to adjust(egg out). You can also swap the lower a arms, with balljoints,the spindles, & upper balljoints onto the exsisting crossmember. the outer tierod ends will also be different(probably easier to use the center link,tierods, ect from the 72). good luck,crazyL

there are 7 bolts on each side of the member.....which ones have to be "persuaded" b/c i would rather just put my notched member on the 3/4 ton and make it a 1/2 ton and slam it at the same time

I have a 77 crossmember to notch & swap into my 69.....but havent done it yet. I have been told that 1 bolt on ea side of the frame is the offender(not sure which one, but the bottom 3 on ea side line up. when you set it up, post your findings to give this old man a "heads up". good luck,crazyL
