78 vs 85 Windshield??
Any chance a 78 windshield is the same as a 85?

I am pretty sure they are...not only that, but all windshield weatherstripping is the same for 73-87 years.

The only difference I know in any of the windshields is the tint, and the internal anteanna. A true "one size fits all" glass...

Is it in perfect condition? If not, it will crack when you pull it. The one in my 77 had a tiny star chip in it, so we asked the glass guy to save it for a shop truck that had a shattered glass. He said he would try, but they always break. It did!

I've taken windshields out of vehicles before, without them breaking. The trick is to cut the weather stripping/seal with a razor. Cut around the entire perimeter, so you can see the edge of the glass. Then I should just push right out.

That may be why mine didn't come out in one piece. I just wanted a new windshield and chrome insert. Since t he rubber was new, so we didn't cut it.

I was planning on cutting the rubber. I know I would break it if I tried to save the rubber also.
