Vintage Air for 73-87?
Has anybody used one of these kits? My engine stuff seems to take up too much room on the passenger side to clear the stock stuff. Just curious, the evaporator kit is around $550 and seems to be the only logical choice. Has anybody had good or bad luck with their products?

I've been looking into it for my 77. Looks like a complete kit is closer to $900. Several of the 67-72 guys have used the kit and like it. You can also check into Old Air. I've ordered both cataloges but haven't gotten anything yet (just been a week).

I know the complete kit is over a $1000 from what I've been told. The kit I'm interested in, is just from the firewall back. Sense I'm fabricating everything forward of there anyway.

Cool, if you do it, TAKE PROGRESS PICTURES! Then post them for us. I'm going to need some A/C in the Blazer. Good luck man!

I have a Vintage Air sure fit system in my 77 but haven't charged it yet.
I've put Vintage Air in a few street rods in the past and can vouch for their quality. I have never had a problem with any of the kits I've bought from them. The kit for our trucks will need a "heat only" control assembly. The heat /AC assembly wont work with the Vintage Air sure fit evaporator. But it's not a big deal to find a "heat only" unit. Sorry, the picture below is about a year old and a little fuzzy. Boy, do I need to get a better camera? |

they had told me about the heat only controller which is no big deal. But that looks great under the hood, pleny of room to get the 4" downpipe out of the turbo:
