Me too.

I plan to sand the entire frame (Down to bare metal) and paint it Chassis Black. However, I'm thinking of having it sand blasted and PC'ed now.

When ever I need to strip down to bare metal I put a wire brush wheel from a bench top grinder on my regular hand held grinder. Make sure you wear face protection, the wires fly off sometimes. It works perfect for stripping paint, grease, grime, rust, etc. It works real fast and doesnt cause damage to the metal in any way.
The reason I use the wire brush from a bench top grinder is because they have the wires facing outward. The regular wire brushed for hand held grinders is shaped like a cup and points all in the same direction. I find it easier to use the edge of the wires as they go around to strip it down. You can cover more area faster.

How about a full face shield, long sleeves and gloves too. I can asure you those wires do come off of there at a speed that will pierce skin.

Another safety suggestion is to tuck your shirt in. If you wear your shirt loose, it could get sucked into the grinder, roll your shirt in a knot, and start working on removing your chest hairs. Not that "I" have ever done anything stupid like that....twice

thats what i always use, it goes by crazy fast, and they do sell grinder heads like that, ist just a little harder to find, the cuped ones are only good for the inside of pipes, in my opion

I have had a grinder get caught in my shirt once. Wasnt cool at all. I escaped without injury just a ripped up shirt and a busted grinder. The grinder after ripping my shirt jumped out of my hand and landed on the concrete just right and crack the case where the wire goes in. I couldnt find the smaller wire wheels for hand held grinders at lowes, home depot, or sears thats why I started using the bench top ones. You can find them just about anywhere, but you have to look for them buy the bench top grinder stuff they are not by the regular grinding wheels. It gets a little hot in the garage so I rarely wear long sleeves even when welding. But when using these wire wheels I always wear a full face shield and gloves.

Any chance we can get some more pictures of that rear end setup?

Are you going to smooth that firewall while everything is apart?
I love the look of a smoothed firewall.

Those little wires flying off are a real bugger though, those things can go in pretty incredibly deep...

at work, there was a guy using one and a wire came out...he is now blind in one eye, ALWAYS use eye protection when using a grinder
