4" Superlift vs. Tuff Country - Opinions please!
Howdy! I am in the market for a 4 inch suspension lift: springs all the way (no blocks)!! I have heard good things about both the superlift and tuff country lift. What I want to know is which will ride better i.e. straighter, more like a stock ride and have less wobble/wander. Basicly be better suited for highway driving and less dirt crawling. I realize the superlift seems to run around $150.00 bucks more but price is not my primary concern. Has anyone had both type of kits? Any comments or advice for a new 4x4er. I want to stick with a simple 4" lift so I dont have to worry about drivelines, brake lines and whatever else that might have to be changed. This is for a 1970 chevy k10. Thanks!!

Tuff Country EZ Ride all the way! one of the softest springs on the market, Superlift, well, lets just say they're nowhere near the top of the list.

I can't speak for the other brand but when I did my initial 4" Tuff Country lift, my ride truly wasn't any worse. I like their springs enough that when I went higher, I bought their stuff again and will on the K5 I just bought.

I just went and bought the 4 inch TC easy ride. It rides great compared to old clapped out stock springs and bushings. But it also lifted my truck 7 inches. It is settling down a bit over the past few weeks but only by maybe 1/2 inch. I had to replace both my front and rear drive lines as they were over extended as were my brake lines. I just wanted to ride on some 33 inch tires but had to go to a 35 as it looked funny. I wish I had bought the 2 1/2 kit instead.

I just put a TC EZ Ride 4" lift on my 84 K20. Install was pretty straight-forward. Ended getting almost 5" out of the thing. The old stock springs must have been worn a little bit. The brake lines did need to be dropped down & I chose to use a raised steering arm as well, then cranked on the draglink to get the steering wheel centered with the wheels again. Overall very happy with the Tuff Country, but mine certainly has more of a "bounce" on bumps & waves in the road than before. Not a real big deal though - and this is my 1st lifted truck so maybe that's just how they ride?? I chose it based upon what I had read on several different forums... and would do it again if need be!

I don't have any experience, but others on the board have indicated that shacks have more affect on the ride than springs do. I think a few people said they prefer hydraulic shocks over nitrogen. Can anyone help me out with this one?

I had SuperLift 4" springs on a K20 back when all lifts were HD.I went with Heckothorn hydaulic shocks(dual front)and it handled/road alot better than trucks I had with gas shocks.
