Pro: Tighter handling, less body roll......Con: They can be squeeky and annoying. Get the ones that are impregnated with graphite. They are alot quiter. Search the net...I'm sure there are plenty of companies that offer them.

Your truck uses steel bushings.
The only possible place to use urethane on your trucks front end is the swaybar.

Would that be a good reason to go with a 73 and up front suspension?

Save your money for something else. Everytime I've ever used urethane stuff (mini trucks and street rods), I've been sorry I did. The car always develops more vibration in it. The rubber stuff does good insulating road vibration from you.

I wasn't talking about using poly bushings, I was just wondering if you wore the steel bushing out, how would you replace it?

Just replaced them on mine, they simply unscrew with an impact after removing a-arms. Mine had been installed improperly, there is a tit on crossmember that is supposed to fit into the bushing shaft to locate it properly. I guess PO didn't pay attention. Brian

![]() I HAVE REPLACED THEM ON A FEW TRUCKS, & I HAVE ALWAYS GOT A UPPER OR LOWER CONTROL ARM SHAFT KIT. IT COMES WITH THE SHAFT & THE CAPS OR BUSHINGS. THE ONLY RUBBER ON THEN WAS THE SEAL TO HOLD THE GREASE IN. THEY'RE NOT TUFF TO REPLACE, BUT IT IS A GOOD TIME TO CONCIDER REPLACING YOUR BALLJOINTS. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm working on rebuilding my frontend right now. Does anyone know offhand what size the ends of the upper/lower bushings are? Thanks
